#NYFW Fall 2014 Day 3

NYFW Day 3 Highlights:

Mara Hoffman: This Fall 2014 collection is illustrated in two beautiful palettes: Northern Africa by night and by day. With inspiration from Moroccan motifs and the Egyptian desert, she took us on beautiful journey. By night, stunning sapphire blue, green, red and gold sequins glistened on a midnight black scene. By day, desert tones of grays, tans, whites and light oranges and blues with camel motifs. Airy maxi dresses and caftans with fringe, graphic, bold Moroccan inspired prints, both black and white and rich color, and gold jewelry all done in a sophisticated, rhythmic fashion.

Notes: Gold accents: hair dipped in gold, jewelry, and sequins. Graphic prints. Mitered patterns of fringe and prints emphasized a feminine shape. Hoods. Intricate beading. Airy and light fabrics. Caftans, maxi dresses, and a hi/low poncho.

Organic, artisan knits juxtaposed with perfectly tailored pieces. Pops of fuchsia, vibrant orange and red delicately placed amidst humble neutrals. The plush shearling coats with leather trims took comfort to an stylish level. Altuzarra exudes a style every lady desires.

Notes: Pops of vibrant color against neutrals, placed in a tasteful manner. Tailored cashmere wrap coats with wide collars. Calf-length skirts with slits.  Artisan knits with organic fringe detail mixed with tailored pieces. Plush shearling coats.

Jill Stuart: Opulence with distinct attitude. Lavish furs and cape trench coats demand attention, while detailed dresses are ready to party. A girl with a slight edge who knows what she wants. Polka dots and shimmer play on her fun, girlish side, while rich fabrics and sharp silhouette define her as a powerful woman.

Notes: Luxe fabrication: velvet, suede, satin, leather and furs. Delicate crystal studs. A-line dresses and skirts. Bermuda shorts. Black and white with a splash of red and blue. Texture and pattern mixed beautifully in her LBDs. Cape trenches and split back silhouettes.
