Kendra’s Night Out Challenge

Kendra's Night Out Challenge

Kendra Thornton, the ultimate travel expert and mother of three, is planning a dream vacation to New York City with some of her closest friends. She’ll be staying at The Dream New York Hotel, complete with restaurants, bars and the infamous Ava Lounge, and she needs to look the part. When she asked for my style advice and to participate in Kendra’s Night Out Challenge, I was thrilled and honored to give her three looks that will make her feel more like Sex and the City and less like Mom of the suburbs.

This asymmetrical dress is simple, yet dramatic. It drapes beautifully without adding volume to unflattering areas. I love adding a subtle pop of color in my jewelry or clutch for something unexpected. Pair with a show-stopper sandal, lots of bangles on the bare arm and a patterned clutch for a city chic look.

New York is full of LBD’s, so why not add a splash of color to the mix? Pair with a bright sandal and clutch to complete the look. It’s all about the print and color with this look, so keep the jewelry minimal.

Fringe is literally everywhere (ahem, Kate Moss and the cover of this month’s Harper’s Bazaar). The fringe dress is perfect for the retro and glamorous vibe of the Ava Lounge. Accent this textured dress with sleek metallics for a fresh spring look.
