#NYFWss2015 Day 1

September is quite possibly the best month of the year. Fashion Weeks and my birthday; how much better can it get?! For the next few days, I’ll be bringing you coverage of my favorite shows. Soak in the inspiration and discover how these trends can enhance your style!

ZAC Zac Posen

It’s all about balance at Zac Posen’s ZAC show. Texture with sleek, fitted with flare, and pattern with solid. Posen describes his latest collection as “dressed up street style.” All the pieces can seamlessly mix into your existing wardrobe. His use of color is perfect for Spring: navy, black and white as the foundations with pops of coral, orange, teal and yellow. One of my favorite pieces is the long, airy, watercolor printed gown, inspired by a sunset Zac instagrammed. And who didn’t lust over the stunning ombre leather moto jacket?! ZAC may be Zac’s lower-priced line, but any woman would feel very rich in these pieces.

Band of Outsiders

Focused on understandable silhouettes and simple duo tone prints, the SS 2015 collection is ideal for the cool girl who loves subtle details. Inspired by a Louise Dahl-Wolfe photograph of two women in short pleated skirts, Sternberg kept the hems short, motifs clean, and the details purposeful. The Roman sandals and lampshade straw hats give a whimsical finish to every look.  This collection will look beautiful in the new Band store in Soho (opened Sept 6th!)
